The Reason Why Blogging Is Good: Blogging Is The New Persuasive Essay

Nowadays, more and more people start their own blogs. They write some reviews, introduction of their favorite movie stars or singers and some cooking recipes. They even communicate with other people through their blogs. Somebody once said, 'Blogging is the new persuasive essay'.

Before I joined the 18th GLPS camp, I never realized that blogging was very helpful. I already had a blog which I started when I was very young but I stopped blogging after a few months. However, I learned the reason why blogging was so important and useful during the GLPS and, now, I'm enjoying blogging so much.

Three Reasons Why Blogging Is Good

1. Many people will read your writings

Let's say that you are writing a reflective essay about your childhood, which is your school assignment. If you write the essay only on your notebook or textbook and submit it to your teacher, only your teacher and some of your classmates can read it. You can't share the writing with other people even if you really want to do so. Besides, imagine that you write a really great fantasy novel and you think that it is much better than any other fantasy novels that we used to read like Harry Potter or The Wizard of OZ. Then, you may want to ask other people to read your wonderful piece and give you some comments. In this situation, if you write the novel on your notebook or the Microsoft Word, only some designated people, such as your family or your best friend, will read your piece. On the contrary, if you post the novel on your blog, countless people all over the world will read your post and leave some comments on it. It may be more exciting than just writimg something on your notebook and showing it to only a few people. Moreover, the fact that many people will read your writing also means that you can read many other people's posts. Some of the posts will give you something informative like the way to bake delicious bread or how to write a good essay.

2. You can persuade other people through your blogs

.

As I mentioned, somebody said that blogging is the new persuasive essay. Sometimes, we get some strong feelings on something or somebody. Some of you may think that 'Joseph Kony must be stopped', 'eating meat is harmful for our health', 'reading electronic books are better than reading paper books', 'kangarroos are amazing', 'blogging is good', and so on. You may hope other people to think like you. One of the things you can do in this case is to post something about them on your blogs. As we all already know, millions of people who are living in different countries will read your posts even if you can't even notice. Some of them may be persuaded by your posts and will give consent to your opinions. Blogging will make your opinions spread widely.

3. You can interact with other people through your blogs.

If you have some friends who are living in other countries, it is hard to meet face to face with them. But if you and your friends have blogs, you can communicate and keep in touch with them with your blogs instead of visiting each other's countries. You will read their posts and come to know their new hobbies, the books they like the most or their opinions on current issues. It is sometimes much cheaper, easier, and more convenient to communicate through your blogs.
You can also communicate with the people you do not even know through your blogs. For example, if you search 'ramen' on Naver or Google, you can find so many posts related to 'ramen' such as 'how to cook tasty ramen' or 'the restaurants where you can eat various type of ramen' on some blogs. Some of the posts may interest you and make you read them. You may leave comments on the posts and the owner of the blog will read the comments. It makes you interact with other people. Blogging will surely make you communicate with so many people.

The Review Of The KMLA Library

From July 22nd to August 18th, I participated in GLPS camp and stayed in Korean Minjok Leadership Academy for 28 days. While spending almost a month in KMLA, I found many great features of the school, such as the unique structures of the buildings, high level education and warm-hearted teachers and students. Among them, one thing I was impressed so much was the library of KMLA.

I. Introduction

The KMLA library is called Mankyuong Library and it was built in 1996. At first, it was located in Dasan Guan. However, in 1998, KMLA rebuilt its library in Chungmoo Guan and improved it. Since then, the KMLA library is becoming bigger and bigger and changing more and more. Among the changes, the biggest change is that the Multimedia Room and the Essay Writing Room (논술실) were built a few years ago. The Essay Writing Room was built in 2010 and it was a place where KMLA students learn how to write good essays through some materials and refrence books. In fact, it was not that necessary for GLPS students. So we did not use it frequently. However, I think that the KMLA students may use it frequently. Besides, the Multimedia Room was built in 1999 and it was the place where the GLPS students could watch videos and movies. GLPS students could use it for doing class activities or watching movies during the weekend. Regardless of the number of GLPS students who used the two places of Mankyung library, they certainly made GLPS camp more convinient. Meanwhile, it is obvious that there WERE other features of the library which caught my attention. The things were...

II. The Books : 10/10

Truth be told, the books in the KMLA library were excellent. According to the introduction of it, the books in the library, including the English books, amount to more than 30 thousand. Moreover, there were even some books I really wanted to read like Dead Poets Society and On Writing . Furthermore, even if I never used the books as reference books during GLPS, some books about world history, like Horrible Histories series (In fact, some students of Class 14 had to borrow Horrible Histories in the library for their final history presentations since we did not have enough books), or scientific knowledge seemed very useful for students' research. Overall, all the books in the Mankyung library were awesome!

III. Convenience: 8/10

As I mentioned, the Essay Writing Room and the Multimedia Room helped students' study. Furthermore, there were some more facilities that could be helpful and useful for students. First, there were various kinds of magazines like Times, People, and Readers Digest which many teachers and students read. Second, we could do our assignments and almost everything related to our homework in the library. Let's say that you had to prepare for your history presentation. First, you should go to the library. Then, you do research with the computer in the library and some books. After you finish it, you start to write a script for your history presentation. Soon, you remember that your history teacher asked you to prepare handouts which contained some pictures, reference lists, and table of contents to make your audience understand your presentation better and persuade them. It's not a big deal because there is a nice computer right in front of you. Moreover, you can copy the handouts very easily by using the copy machine in the library. Then you finally finish preparing for the history presentation! It's so convenient, isn't it? If there was no library that have many things to help your study in KMLA, you might need to take your own reference books which were very heavy everywhere. Moreover, you might need to go to the 2nd floor of Choongmoo Guan to write your script and make a handout. Next, you might go to Dasan Guan to copy the handout. It might be really really unconvenient! The facilities and services of Mankyung library were really nice!

But I think they should increase the number of chairs, desks, and computers. There were a few chairs and desks that could afford only about 40 people (they were fewer than the desks and chiars of my school library) and only three computers while there were so many people who needed to use the library.

IV. Overall.... : 9/10

Truth be told, the Mankyung library is one of the best librarys I have been during my whole life. The numerous books in the library attracted me and many facilities in it, such as some computers and a copy machine, made my life at GLPS more convenient. And there's no doubt that the KMLA students, who will return to their school after a few days, will also use the library frequently, as well.
But, there was a problem I found during the GLPS camp. GLPS students did not know much about the library. Many students did not know how to apply for the first self-study at the library (somebody even did not know the service's existence.), how to borrow books and so on. Therefore, I think KMLA needed to advertise more about its library to the GLPS students.

Meta Fiction: Complicated Crime

This meta fiction is based on the chain writing Christine started. After you read my meta fiction, you can visit her blog and see the original writing. I used different colors for each writing(mine is in pink and Christine's is in white)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It was a dark stormy night. A robber got out of the jail. As soon as the emergency bell rang, the police officers got out of the room and got on the police car. " What's happening? Did the criminal run away?" The old police officer, Dahl, got angry. " How did he get out of the jail?" A key was found in the keyhole of the open jail room door.  The police officers got very angry. " Who left the key there?" "There must be a traitor!" The police officers checked the people that were in the police office. But there was no traitor. Police officers became so confused. The next day, a house was robbed. There was no way to catch the robber. "

James was reading his favorite novel called Complicated Crime when his mother came in and asked him to turn off the light. He was a very adventurous 13-year-old boy who really wanted to catch a criminal for a long time. Sometimes, he said, " I'll find the robber!! Because I'm a HERO!!".

Time flew. James grew up to be a high school senior. He applied for a famous college to be a doctor and surprisingly he was accepted. So, the day before he left his home for college, he started to pack. At the moment , he found Complicated Crime, the book he loved so much when he was a child, He unconciously started to read the book. When he was reading the old, dirty and humble but still interesting book, he looked like a young boy who used to dream of becoming a police officer. Soon, he forgot the fact that he had to pack and he should leave his home tomorrow but just concentrated on reading. At the moment, James got a strange feeling and felt as if the whole world was turning upside down.

"Hey, wake up!" came a strange voice. When he opened his eyes, James saw a gorgeous girl shaking his body violently.  Her hair was brown and she had very big eyes. She was staring at James with curiousity and interest. "What's your name?" James asked. The girl answered " I'm Jane."  At the moment, they heard a shouting voice, "Jane, return home and do your homework!" "I've got to go. My mom is calling me."  With a big smile, Jane walked away from him. Still lying on the grass, James thought, ' what a beautiful girl she is!'

Surprisingly, James was hired by the Complicated Police, where his favorite character in Complicated Crime, Mr. Dahl, was working. Mr. Dahl and other police officers trusted James so much and thought that James was very dilligent and honorable. One day, Mr. Dahl told James a shocking news. He said that a villainous robber robbed 15 houses last night and burned the houses. As a result, many people were burned and injured because of the cruel criminal. " We should catch the cruel chap as soon as possible!" Mr. Dahl became really mad and said.

Soon, some police officers caught a suspect and brought her to James. Surprisingly, she was Jane. " Are you the crimi....." James was shocked and asked her.."This gal was wandering around the burned houses. It is obvious that she is the cruel robber". A police officer said to James. However, Jane insisted that she was innocent. "I was just going home through the quiet and beautiful road." James started to agonize over which person to believe. He really wanted to trust Jane. However, he was a police officer. He should catch a criminal. It was his right and duty. James thought for a while and ordered his fellow to arrest Jane. When the police officers were arresting her, Jane screamed, " No, James! I'm not a criminal. How can you order them to arrest me!" But James just ignored her. At the moment, James felt as if the whole world was turning upside down again.

James opened his eyes. He was lying on the floor of his own room holding the book, Complicated Crime, in his right hand. Nothing changed and James was still just a 13-year-old boy who wanted to catch a criminal.  So, James dismissed that all the incidents which had happened to him were just a dream.

However, the next day, when he was returning from school, James heard a familiar voice from behind. When he turned around, he was almost paralized with fear. Surprisingly, it was Jane that he saw in his dream. "James, how could you arrest me! James!" As she came near to him, James began to run screaming with great horror.

My Final History Presentation :Why Shakespeare

Everyone, imagine that you went to the old England. You are enclosed with dazzling houses and an old woman who is going to a theatre tells you that you are now on the Chapel Street. At the moment, you finally realize that you are in Stratford. You reach a house and unconciously knock on the door. Surprisingly, the owner of the house opens the door and comes out. Soon, he notices that you are a visitor who does not know much about his town and starts to introduce himself. He says that he is quite famous. He says that he is William Shakespeare.

Well, it may be an awesome experience if you can meet William Shakespeare. As you may all know, he was the famous poet and also the play writer. His plays were performed during the Middle Ages and are still being performed nowadays. In fact, so many people love his poems and plays which are romantic, somewhat tragic and unrealistic. You, who are now listening to my presentation, may also like his pieces. Then, have you ever wondered, "by the way, why the people all over the world, including the gone generations, love Shakespeare's plays and poems so much?" Maybe some of you have thought like that. In fact, what I'm going to tell you today will be the answer to the question.

When it comes to the reason why we love Shakespeare's pieces, there can be many reasons. Among them, the biggest reason is that they are very interesting and horrible. In fact, the two were the main features of famous plays of the Middle Ages. So, according to the author of Horrible Histories , Terry Deary, William Shakespeare might be inspired by the religious English plays of Middle Ages, which often dealt with the stories of the Bible. The plays were amazing, awesome, surprising and wonderful for the people of the Middle Ages. Of course, Shakespeare could not write religious plays since it was the Tudor Age, when the person who dealt with a religious theme was punished. Instead, Shakespeare gave his audience more than that. He gave them 'horror'.

Among his plays, one of his tragics, Titus Andronicus , was the most violent one. It tells the fictional story of Titus, who was the general of Roman Army. Shakespeare put some unusual ways of killing, which he liked so much, in this play. You know, the ways were so dreadful. Especially, in Titus Andronicus, a miserable character called Chiron was stabbed and baked into a pie. Moreover, the pie was served to his mother. Isn't it horrible? Besides, there is a more horrible scene in the play. Lavinia, who was the daughter of Titus, was even cut out her hands and tongue!
It's more horrible. Isn't it? However, actually, the horrible scenes made Shakespeare's plays more popular and more interesting. And, as I mentioned, that's why the people all over the world like his pieces.

Besides, the horrible and interesting scenes were the result of William Shakespeare's efforts. Do you think that the people who do not know much about play can make great plays like what Shakespeare made? Do you think that the people who are not that enthusiastic and dilligent can make fantastic plays like what Shakespeare made? Do you think that the people who do not agonize over which scene to add and which scene to delate can make awesome plays like what Shakespeare made? Well, you may say, "certainly not!" While nobody can deny that Shakespeare was a genius, none of his work would have been possible without his enthusiasm, dilligence and love for  his job. Along with many other aspects of William Shakespeare, they are what we should learn from him. Thank you very much.

Our Chain Writing : Joan And His Missing Sister

It is the chain writing  Ally started and Class 14 worked on for more than 45 minutes. It was messed up a little bit since about 10 people, who have different mindset, different culture and different personality, wrote it together. I will write all the sentences I and my classmates wrote on the chain writing paper here, so please copy it and make it better. (I used different colors for the writings of different writers.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When he returned to his room, Joan felt dizzy. Maybe, it is because of the cold weather. Or, it may be because of the strange document he found in the garage a few minutes ago. The document was about the death of his younger sister, who died about 4 years ago. His mother and father said that his sister died because of a traffic accident when Joan asked them about his sister's death. However, according to the document, his sister was murdered. But, maybe, to prevent Joan from getting shocked, his parents lied that she died because of the traffic accident. Joan was so sad that he could not think anything for the rest of the day. So Joan's best friend James came and gave him a secret CIA files about his sister's death. But Joan said, "I don't need it!" James was so surprised that he slapped Joan's face. After that, James got a mental problem and became a shy boy. James worried about everything. He couldn't talk well. He always mumbled.  James eventually bought unicorns to kill Joan, since Joan said "I don't need it", when James gave him the secret documents from CIA. James bought some unicorns, which spit fireballs on people's faces. Later that evening, Joan's face was caught on fire. "Ah, my face!" said Joan. Joan ran away and met Brian in GIL, a local night club. He was dancing with Anna. In fact, Brian was the back-dancer of GIL and Anna, who also worked as a MC of GIL, had a crush on him. So, she proposed to Brian. But Brian did not accept her proposal and she cried all day long. As a result, she could not go to GIL's 'Ophan Gangnam Style' concert. Truth be told, Brian liked her but he could not accept the proposal of Anna because he was very shy. A few years later, Anna was assigned to be the MC for a GIL concert. She was beautiful in her clothes and Brian loved her so much. He proposed her. But Anna just slapped him, saying, "you did this to me, as well. So I can't accept your proposal." She left the place leaving Brian shocked. Joan, who was there, thought Anna was similar to his dead sister who was Anna, as well. At the moment, Joan remembered that a few years ago, when he said "I don't need it!" to his best friend James, James was about to say something. It might be something like "according to CIA, your sister is alive but just ran away from your family." Joan ran until he finally reached his room, which was on the 3rd floor of GIL building. When he finally arrived at his room and read the documents from CIA, he started to cry with happiness.

My Second History Presentation: The Witch Hunt in Edinburgh

Do you know Joan of Arc? As you may all know, she was the woman soldier of France. When other countries attacked France, Joan of Arc fought bravely for her country. She was the hero of France. However, the Frenches did not praise her. They even thought that Joan of Arc was a witch with a horrible magical power. The citizens dreaded Joan of Arc and eventually decided to burn her. Joan of Arc was a great woman. However, she was also the sacrifice of witch hunt.

In fact, there were so many sacrifice of witch hunt, except Joan of Arc, especially in Scotland. The witch hunt of Scotland started in 1550 until it finally ended in 1700s. Scots thought that witches sold their soul to devils. In 1563, witchcraft became illegal in Scotland and people started to catch witches. About 1500 people were arrested so far. But, in fact, most of them were innocent women and men. They did not know why they should be punished and why they should be blamed but were killed very cruelly. They were burned alive at the stake.

Edinburgh was the capital city of Scotland. It played crucial role in Scotland's witch hunt. Besides, Edinburgh was where the King James VI, the king of Scotland, killed about seventy people because of a ridiculous reason. He visited other country and was returning to his kingdom by a ship. Unfortunately, his ship was caught in storm and he became very furious. He thought that witches created the storm to kill him. Therefore, King James VI of Scotland ordered to catch the witches. Seventy people were arrested. The innocent people were tortured and most of them died. Since then, about 300 people were burned in Edinburgh because of the witch hunt.

It was a misbehavior. Scots should not do witch hunt. They murdered so many innocent women and men who were the precious moms, dads, children, friends, and neighbors of many other people. It was ridiculous to kill the people only because they might be witches. The kings of Scotland did not have any right to destroy the happiness of their nation. They should make Scotland a better country, not kill innocent people.

What I want to emphasize through this incident is the 'herd behaviour'. The herd behaviour means thinking like what others are thinking and acting like what others are acting. There might be many people who knew that witch hunt is ridiculous and the burned people were actually innocent. However, because of the herd behaviour in their mind, they ignored the horrible facts and followed what other people did. Of course, the ordinary people just followed the governemnt without any doubt. They believed other people's thought, they followed other people's action and they did not even try to follow their own inner voice. They were like 'Springbucks'.

Springbucks are the sheep which are living in Africa. They eat grass and always move with their group. Sometimes, one of them want to eat more and run to other pasture. Other springbucks try to run after they see they running springbuck. Soon, all the springbucks start to run without knowing the reason why they run. They are just following other springbucks' action. And, when they reach a cliff, all of them fall and die. In fact, the Scots' fate was very simillar to the destiny of the springbucks. Some of the people who ignored the horrible fact were killed because of the witch hunt. If they had not followed other's action and opposed to the cruel witch hunt, the tragics might not be so serious.

King James VI's crazy thought and the herd behaviour of ordinary people made the dreadful incident. Because of the witch hunt, so many Scots suffered so much. Therefore, we should not repeat the misbehavior of Scots. The horrible people made the horrible history. So let's make the rest of the history better, brighter and happier. Thank you very much.

Reflective Essay: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, And Spring

A few years ago, the whole nation was shocked because of the misbehavior of an elementary school teacher. A teacher battered a student and someone in the class took a video. As a result, almost every Korean came to know the embarrassing fact. Many people became very furious. However, there might be the reason why the teacher had to punish the student. Maybe the student bullied other students, did some bad things or did not do the homework. If so, the teacher should discipline the student and all of us already know the fact. Nonetheless, because the way the teacher discipling his student was unproductive and wrong, we blamed him.

This Korean film is called <Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.. and Spring> and it deals with the life of an old monk and a young monk who are living in a small island. In the Spring part, the boy, who was very bored, tied small stones to a frog, a fish and a snake and laughing while watching the suffering animals. However, the old monk, who was peeping the young monk, was very surprised. He tied a big and heavy stone to the boy while he was sleeping and when the boy asked him to untie the stone, the old monk said that the old monk would untie it only when the boy untied the stones the boy himself tied to the animals. So the little monk quickly started to find the animals. However, the fish and the snake already died and the boy started to cry after he saw the dead snake.

In fact, there are two ways of punishing: A productive way and an unproductive way. The productive way of punishing makes us realize some important facts and prevents us from doing the misbehavior again. Meanwhile, the unproductive way of punishing can not make us realize something but just gives us pain or makes us annoying. For example, if your teacher beats you when you did not do your homework, you will dislike your teacher, not feel guilty or realize the real reason you have to do your homework. (of course, you will come to know the fact that if you don't want to be battered by your teacher, you should do your homework. But that's not the real reason why you have to do your homework)

When I was a young girl, I and my family went to a mart and bought a goldfish, which I wanted so much. It had smooth, bright and beautiful skin, black and round eyes and very small like a mouse. It was certainly cute. After we bought it, I named it 'Gum Jini' ('Gum meant goldfish and 'Jini' was the last word of my and my brothers' names. We liked it very much, but it died after only 1 week. It was because I did not take care of it well. I did not give it much food, did not clean its fishbowl frequently and did not change the water in the bowl for several days. I came to know the shocking news as soon as I returned from the English academy I once attended and fell into a deep sorrow. Even if my parents did not scold me that much, the incident disciplined me so much and taught me the preciousness of life.

As a matter of fact, the old monk's way of punishing was quite productive. The little monk realized that bothering animals was very cruel and bad thing and sometimes led the animals to death. The old monk's way of disciplining the little monk was to make the little boy experience the pain the three animals might have felt. It was quite effective. However, there was one problem in the old monk's way to discipline the little monk. It was very harsh for the young and childlike boy who did not know why he shouldn't bother animals. Little kids sometimes can not realize what is bad and what is right since they are not fully mature. Of course, I agree with the way the old monk punished the boy but I think he shouldn't treat the boy that harsh. If the little monk was unlucky, he might be hurt because of the heavy and big stone tied to him. So I think the old monk had to tie a little bit smaller stone to the boy and give the little monk some extra lessons by talking with the child after he regretted his misbehaviour.

Overall, although I dislike some parts of the old monk's punishment and can not help thinking it is a little bit harsh, I concede it was quite productive and gave a lesson to the little monk. Besides, if the blamed teacher I mentioned had not battered his student but had used a productive way of disciplining, his and the student's future might have changed a lot.

Essay Writing CA: Write about your life in your dormitory room

After the first day in GLPS, I met so many strangers such as teachers, class PAs, room PAs, TAs, library PAs and other camp participants. They were all very great and nice. However, among them, the people I like most are my roommates.

As you know, six people are living in one dorm room here, in GLPS, and we called the six people 'roommates'. The roommates usually get along well with each other but sometimes they fight. However, whether or not they like each other, they have to live together for a month.

Fortunately, my roommates and I get along pretty well with each other. What we do in our dormitory room are very similliar.  At 7 AM or so, all of us have to get up. (At first, we got up at about 6 AM. However, since we usually go to Meoyn Hak Room to do our homework these days, we can't get up early like before.) For a few minutes, we unconsiously speak Korean( of course, not everyday but the days we are very sleepy). But after all of us completely wake up, we speak in English and start to go to the cafeteria for breakfast. We can eat bread, rice or cereal as a breakfast. After breakfast, the six girls leave our cozy dormitory room and start to run like cheetah to our advisor's office. Since I and one of my roommates, Lilly, are in the same class, we go to our advisor, Mr. Kluge's office together every single day (except the days one of us left something in our room or is completely left behind.)

After 4 hours of interesting lessons, we gather together in our dorm room. Sometimes we have plenty of homework to do and spend all of our lunch time doing homework. However, if we have nothing to do, we just play or talk about the lessons we had for 10~20 minutes of lunch time. But the enjoyable lunch time soon end and we quickly get out of our dormitory not to be late for the 5th period.

In 5:15, when we finished the 7th period, the only place we go to is our dormitory room. When I and Lilly arrive there, the other roommates pop up from their rooms and greet us. We laugh together while we go to the cafeteria for dinner. Sometimes our friend, Ann visit our room and go for dinner with us.

The PAs said that we should be quiet during the 1st self-study period. Meanwhile, truth be told, we sometimes complain about the stacks of homework given to us, help other friends' homework or compare each other's achievements. It is almost impossible to keep silence. How we can do all of our homework in time is a mystery.

After Honjung, we can go to Myeon Hak Room to study more or just sleep. Since most of us are very tired, we fall into deep sleep as soon as we go to bed. And, while we do not even notice, daybreak come and the new day starts.

My Debate Script- Samsung Galaxy (Note) Is Better Than Apple i Phone (4S)

A few days ago, Class 14 debated with this topic: Samsung Galaxy is better than Apple i Phone. I was on the opposition team and on the same team with Yenny, Owen and Lucia. My role was the extra speaker. Extra speaker's role is to say the strongest arguments of their team and finish the whole debate. This is my script:

Ladies and gentlemen, we are all living in a globalized society. In the globalized society, we can communicate with the people who are living far away and know the things happening in other countries easily. Apple contributed to the advancement of the globalized society a lot. Its i phones made impossible things possible, changed out lifestyle and made our life more convenient.

Hello, my name is Eujin Jo and I'm the 2nd whip(extra speaker) of the opposition team. The topic was 'Samsung Galaxy is better than Apple i phone' and our team strongly believes that Apple i phone is better. Now, I'd like to summarize our team's good argument to you.

First, we said that Apple's i phone 4s has much more internal storage compared with Samsung Galaxy Note's internal storage. While Samsung Galaxy Note's internal storage is only 16 GB, Apple's i phone 4S has 64 GB of internal storage. So we can store more music, photos and movies in i phone.
Second, Apple i phone 4S has more apps. The i phone App Store had more than 50000 apps. On the contrary, Samsung's Android App Market has only 40000 apps. It proves that we can enjoy more enjoyable and interesting apps with i phone 4S.

Of course, we do not think i phone is the best phone. Galaxy and i phone, both of them have some advantages and disadvantages. However, we just think that i phone is better than Samsung Galaxy, yet. Thank you for listening.

About Joseph Kony: The War Didn't End

Throughout history, there have been numerous wars. As we all know, there were not only small wars but also some big wars. Although most of the big wars all ended many decades ago, there are some small wars still going on. Besides, as for the reason why people caused wars, there were so many causes. Some wars were fought for good causes but some wars were fought for selfish causes like to get power, fame and some land. The war I am going to introduce is a war against terrorism in Uganda.

This video is called <Kony 2012>. You might have heard about this video or actually watched it. This video is very viral and popular in 2012. In the first two weeks, so many people (more than 92 million views as of August 2012.) watched this video on You Tube.
As you can notice through it's title, this is about Joseph Kony, the dreadful murderer who was from Uganda. This video deals with the cruel murderer and the painful life of Jacob, a child who escaped from Kony's army. Jason Russell, the co-founder of Invisible children,Inc., made this video to make the people all over the world know Joseph Kony.

I'd like to examine who is Joseph Kony first. He was born in 1961, in northern Uganda. According the Wikipedia, he was a very religious child. But, for some reasons, when he became a teenager, he suddenly quit school and stopped attending church. Soon, he became an adult and made LRA, the Lord's Resistance Army, in 1987. Since then, he kidnapped so many Ugandan children . Besides, he and LRA started to accuse so many cruel and villainous crimes such as murder, making girls child sex slavery, and forcing children to join his army. According to Invisible Children, Inc., he sometimes make the kidnapped children kill their own parents to expand his power in Uganda. Now, he is threatening the peace of the whole global society.

In fact, nowadays, about 3000 children are suffering under Joseph Kony. It is said that in LRA, the kidnapped children are suffering from sexual abuse, violence and threat of being killed. Especially, Jacob, who was the main character of <Kony 2012> was kidnapped by LRA with his brother. His brother, who tried to escape, was killed by LRA soldiers. Jacob went to a safe place where he could meet Jason Russell. However, he suffered from the bad and painful memory for a long time.

All the kids all over the world have the right to live safely and happily. They should not suffer from the damages of being killed or being kidnapped even if they are living in a poor country. All kids have to live in a peaceful and charming world and get good education to achieve their goal.

So far, I briefly examined who is Joseph Kony and what he did. And I also mentioned why we should bring Kony to justice. I strongly believe that we should save Uganda. We should protect Uganda and make the kidnapped children free. Of course, you may think that Joseph Kony  and his LRA is not the big problem in Africa. You may think that there are other major problems like a lot of diseases and the children who are suffering from hunger. Nonetheless, we should help the helpless kidnapped children and prevent cruel Joseph Kony from committing crimes. Because, we should give our children a better earth. Because, our children's future should be a brighter one.

My First History Presentation: The Women Discrimination of Victorians

Audience, if I say this single word, 'Queen Victoria's reign' to you, you may imagine the intelligent and wise queen, fancy aristocrats and so many new inventions. You may even think that the Victorian era might be very exciting. That's true, but, unfortunately, the other side also existed. There were so many people who suffered from hunger and diseases, monstrous crimes and serious children abuse. The most serious problem among them, however, was the discrimination against Victorian women.

During Queen Victoria's reign, women were treated so badly and villainously. Victorian men treated women as if women were men's servants. The roles of women were just to get married, do house chores and take care of children and their husbands. Besides, even if it was the reign of the Queen, the Victorian law was very unfair for women. When a Victorian woman married, all her property and money automatically belonged to her husband. Moreover, Queen Victoria even allowed men to beat their wives and girl friends! During the Victorian era, women were treated like dogs.

To make the matters worse, Victorians discriminated women even in the courts. Let me give you an example. The two cruel murderers, Elizabeth Pearson and John Tully, lived during the Queen Victoria's reign. Let's examine what they did and how they were punished.

Elizabeth Pearson, who had a husband and a son, lived near her uncle and aunt's house. So, when her aunt died, she had to take care of her old and sick uncle. She knew that she had to take care of him for a long time but she didn't want to do it. So she put some rat poison in her uncle's medicine and pretended that it was some sugar. The uncle willingly drank the poison and soon died. For some reasons, police officers noticed that Elizabeth killed her uncle and arrested her. And the judges sentenced her hanging. So, on 2nd August 1875, Pearson died.

And, as for John Tully, he killed his wife by battering her. It is said that he beat his wife until she bruised her nose and smashed her against the wall. He got caught the day before Elizabeth Pearson was arrested. Can you guess what happened to him? Yes, exactly! He just served in jail for only 9 months!

Audience, think about it. The woman who killed a man, was hung. But the man who killed a woman served in jail for only 9 months. Is it fair?

Through this story, we can know how much Victorians discriminated women. The Victorian men didn't feel guilty when they battered women. The men didn't feel sorry when they discriminated women. They didn't notice that the discrimination against women was wicked and villainous thing and they shouldn't do it. And, they didn't notice that because of the discrimination, Victorian women couldn't use their own talent and ability productively. If they had noticed all the fact, they might not discriminated women. If they had noticed all the fact, Queen Victoria's England might have developed much more. But, they didn't.

Even if the society developed very much, the discrimination against women still exist. Some companies do not pay enough money to women and even fire women when women get babies. Besides, many people still divide jobs into women's and men's. Some people even think that women's role is just to take care of their babies and husbands. But, although some people are still discriminating women, we should not follow the misbehavior but should achieve the gender equality. We will make the future of Korea. What we do will determine Korea's future. So, remember the destiny of Victorians, who discriminated women so much. Thank you very much.
